After my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I was wondering; what cars, according to Oppo, don't get enough attention? They could be either new or old, and they could get attention, just not the kind you think it deserves. So what's your pick?

I'm gonna go with a classic. The Oldsmobile 442. Just like the Buick GSX it just doesn't get much recognition.

Maserati Coupe, really not appreciated enough. Currently it's an affordable Maserati paired with a 6 speed manual, with a Ferrari engine.

Any 2nd gen F-body. Everyone loves '69 Camaro's and Firebirds but there is very little love for the next gen cars. 2nd gen Trans Ams are just starting to go up in value so there is hope.

Na, but seriously, my girlfriends car -
"Hey babe, when was the last time you checked your oil?"
"What?"
But I know what you mean, here's my real, real answer

Ehhh, It never really bothered me. I've always wanted one. At some point in time, I will have one, probably in the next 7 years. That's if everything goes how I want it to that is.

The last "boxy" Volvo. I don't think much people pay attention to it, especially with all the aging 240s and 850s.
Especially from consumers. The hardcore ones want an Elise or Exige, the ones that want luxurious fun get Caymans, the ones that want a little sub $80K exotic get 4Cs
Because supercharged HK taxi. It's a shame I don't hear about this as much as I want to.

Z4s go pretty cheap second hand, so hopefully I'll have one of those eventually. Even if it is a previous generation.

They kinda botched the Genesis with the new nosejob. I prefer the ones that have the small grille.

I know right. We begged someone to give us a sportier/ turn-loving competitor for the mustang. Hyundai answered the call, but the world heard their voice and hung up.

Yeah, over time the prices are going down considerably. The Z4 also has the potential of being a daily driver, while the Maserati only holds a position as a bit of a fun car to take out on the weekends.

The BMW M1. Maybe it does get enough attention and for some reason I just never notice it, but I feel like this car has always been overlooked for some reason. I know its not the fastest or the quickest, but I think its damn beautiful, and maybe dare I say, the coolest road-going BMW of all time.

You could daily a Maserati, so long as you can get past the paranoia and possibility of it getting hit or scratched. And repair bills for that Ferrari V8

Triumph TR4. A weird recommendation to some, but I do enjoy driving it because it's so different compared to modern road cars.

Repairs are fucking expensive, I couldn't afford maintenance for the Ferrari V8, parts and repair bills. The annual cost of daily driving a car like that is catastrophically high, with a new clutch costing around $4 grand.
Even working two jobs, I couldn't afford to pay for maintenance in other words.

The Subaru Legacy turbo. Not many outside of enthusiast circles know that it was the first car to win a WRC event for Subaru* (1993 N.Z. rally) or that the third-gen (2005-2009) is essentially a WRX for people who don't think hair gel and Monster are "hella sick, bro!"
Here's a nice first-gen in the hand-built RS Type-RA homologation special.
Here's a nice third-gen Spec-B. Subaru made some really nice looking cars in the latter half of the '00s.

I heard the maintenance costs for this car are higher than the Ferrari that the V8 was sourced from. Rumor is that a lot of little things constantly break and have to be replaced.
Though it is supposed to be much safer with the stick than the F1 transmission. The biggest chance of something ultra expensive needing repairs is the F1.

Tell me about it! The 6MT version of the Coupe and Spyder are the cheapest cars like this that you can buy right now. And dat engine sound, oh boy is it nice

I've wanted one, from the second they came out. If I were to have one, I would be quite worried about maintenance, but then again it would not be a daily driver. The engine noise, is angelic. I NEED one.

What's funny is that anytime I'm too paranoid about not hurting something I own something ends up happening to it.

Same here, Haha. I'm openly over protective of my A4. It's actually in the body shop, getting $6,000 of Not-My-Money being put into repairing the rear end, after a Silverado violated my car. That seems to be what I get for being paranoid about my car, Lol

Yeah, Thanks. I'm just happy that it wasn't totaled, also that I didn't have to pay for it. I would have had to sell my precious motorcycle. It hurt considerably more than the Accord that hit me last time, I know way too much about feeling rear end accidents than I should, Haha.

I was Ok then. I went to my doctor afterwards, he said that it was nothing serious. Silverado man got airbags though. I don't really care much about him, because he was texting.

Thanks. I advocate highly against texting and driving. It's scary to be in a car with a texter, no matter what the speed is.
Just another advantage of manual. I couldn't text even if I wanted to, which I wouldn't do. Haha.

It is definitely not safe! It's was safer to use a good hands free system and talk to someone than it is to text
jkm7680

03/16/2014 at 20:23 | 1 |
Yeah, but even those I hear aren't as safe. Not texting or calling at all would be my view.

Agree it's best to not do either.
But if you need to get information from someone while in route or give them an update a fully integrated system is the way to go. I have a good integrated bluetooth setup in two of my cars and both work well.
If I use it on the freeway I always get out of the fast lane. I know that your reaction times can be increased when you are talking so I move over to a slower lane and slow down a bit. At least that way I'm not covering ground at 80 MPH.
What's funny is that I've noticed that I'm a safer driver if on the phone and in a slow lane than I am with coffee and in the fast lane without being on the phone. Too much coffee and HP is a bad mix. It can make you too aggressive. I don't drink a bunch of coffee before hitting the freeway anymore.

Yeah, it's better than actually manually inputting, or talking on the phone. If my boss calls when I'm in the car, I simply don't answer. He gets it though. If I have to talk, I put my phone on speaker, and throw it in the passenger seat. Good idea moving over and slowing down though.
